The Arapawa sheep is a rare heritage breed, descended from sheep introduced to Arapawa Island in the early 19th century. With their fine features, long legs, and often mottled or dark fleece, these animals carry with them a sense of endurance and quiet grace.

Their history is woven into New Zealand’s colonial past, surviving in isolation for generations and developing into a breed distinct to Aotearoa.
